“It was just as good as when I saw it in the theater for 25 cents,” she said. What movie was she talking about? “G.I. Blues,” starring Elvis Presley.
It was Elvis Presley’s birthday and the elders were given a choice of which Elvis Presley movie they wanted to watch. Earlier in the day they had shared memories of favorite recordings by Elvis. Now they were going to enjoy a favorite movie. They selected G.I. Blues. Afterwards, one of the elders recalled seeing the movie in the theater years ago. She said the movie ticket was 25 cents. She enjoyed it then and, though it was not in a theater, she enjoyed it again just as much.
