Clinton County Care & Rehabilitation Center is thrilled to announce the launch of Camp Clinton! This new initiative provided a bridge between two generations, the young at heart and the young in age. Employees had the opportunity to bring their children to work with them from December 22, 2009 to January 1, 2010 from 7am. to 5pm. Children were provided a safe, supervised environment at Clinton County Care & Rehabilitation Center.
The residents and children enjoyed daily activities, which enhanced the resident’s quality of life as well as provided a truly intergenerational experience for the children and the residents. During the camp, there were 17 children that participated and three volunteers that assisted with the camp: Beverly Marcum, Wilma Hancock, and Saundra Cross. The residents loved having the children at the facility and it gave the employees a place where they can bring their children while at work. It was a win-win for the residents, children, and the employees.
When asked what the best part of the camp was to resident Inalean Gibson, she stated, “They made a colorful quilt for us. I loved watching them hit the balloons with us. They have so much energy.”
Clinton County Care & Rehabilitation Center extends a sincere thank you to the facility dietary team for donating the food to the campers and to the camp directors: Paige Sawyers, Dietary Aide, and Sandi Willis, Certified Nursing Assistant and Ward Clerk. The camp was such a success that the facility anticipates having the camp during spring and fall breaks.
From all of us at Clinton County Care & Rehabilitation Center, “Welcome!”
